Our team had a fantastic showing at the Sharyland Pioneer UIL Chess Tournament this past Saturday! We’re especially proud of our three new students who competed in their very first tournament—they played with confidence, focus, and great sportsmanship.

The Great Kindness Challenge 2026 – Show Us Kind 🌟
This week, our Challengers reflected on what kindness means and shared ways to spread it at school, at home, and in our community. We are so proud of their caring hearts and the positive choices they make each day. Together, we’re making our school a kinder, brighter place — one act of kindness at a time! 💙✨

Kids Heart Challenge kicks off on 2/2/2026. This year’s event is more than just fun; it’s our school’s service project in partnership with the American Heart Association. Students will learn healthy habits while helping kids with special hearts and supporting families right here in our community through donations to fight heart diseases and stroke.

Today we proudly celebrated 100 days of school at McAuliffe Elementary, and our students showed up in the best way—rocking their homemade 100th Day shirts with tons of school spirit! 👕💙
From creative designs to big smiles, it was amazing to see how our students marked this milestone with pride, imagination, and excitement for learning. We are so proud of how far they’ve come in just 100 days and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

Congratulations to our amazing chess team for their outstanding performance this past Saturday at the Rayburn UIL Chess Tournament!
Emma Morales, Oziel Conde, and Liam De Leon powered through the competition, each earning 3 wins and taking home the 2nd place team trophy. This achievement is even more impressive because they competed as a team of three, while all other schools had teams of four!
A HUGE congratulations to Calvin Aguirre, who had a perfect day—going undefeated and winning all 5 matches to earn 1st place at the tournament!
We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, focus, and sportsmanship. Way to represent our school! 👏♟️

Our school had an outstanding showing at the District Battle of the Books competition! Our main team earned 2nd place out of 18 schools, and our junior team placed 7th, an incredible accomplishment.
Battle of the Books is a districtwide event where students read four challenging, lengthy books and compete in a trivia-style quiz that tests detailed comprehension and recall. The competition is tough, and only the highest-scoring school advances to the regional level through Region One.
A huge thank you to our librarian, Mrs. Alcalá, for her dedication, guidance, and encouragement. Her support played a big role in our students’ success. We are incredibly proud of our teams and grateful for the leadership behind the scenes. Way to represent our school! 👏📖
